Cell Phone Dealer – Case Study
Here is another Case study of a client we started working with late July. This website is several years old but was not ranked in the first 250 pages in Google. We created a new website layout/design and changed all the on-site SEO factors (kept the content the same)
We wanted to focus on 3 main keywords and we are now ranked (November 2009) on the first page for these 3 keywords.
This process was not always smooth as we experienced the “Google Dance”. Usually when you start working with SEO on your website you will see a big jump in rankings for a few days/week and then all of a sudden you are way down and off the charts. Google constantly changes their algorithm and is out of our control. Eventually the sites start moving back up in the rankings but sometimes it takes several weeks.
So there were a few weeks in October where the site could not be found but then started moving back up in Google and Yahoo.
The crazy thing is we have a duplicate site with identical content, layout and design that is used for affiliate program and it was ranked on the first page of Google without any optimization. Just by changing some of the onsite factors the site was found and started ranking (this site was not indexed before we changed it).
